Snow Play in Flagstaff

Picture of Snow Sledding in Flagstaff, Arizona

Frolicking in winter snow. When the Northern Arizona winter snow arrives, the desert-dwellers from the Phoenix and Scottsdale area head to Flagstaff for snow play recreation. Dig-out the winter duds, grab the sleds and tubes and get ready to snow sled and snow tube down hills. Build a snowman and throw some soft snowballs. Flagstaff is about a 2.0 or 2.5 hour drive from Phoenix, so you can take the family up for the day or stay for a weekend. Click here to choose from a wide choice of Flagstaff hotels.

Be advised that snow sledding and snow tubing is not permitted at the Arizona Snowbowl ski area but there are several places that are relatively safe for families with young children to enjoy frolicking in the snow. There are no entry fees at most of the places while nominal fees may be charged at others.
