Getting To The Grand Canyon South Rim

There are 3 ways to get to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon from Flagstaff. Any of those routes take less than a 90-minute drive. The South Rim is the most visited side attracting over 5 million visitors each year. Grand Canyon Village features all the amenities including hotels, restaurants, large parking lots, intra-canyon buses to various lookout points and ranger stations.

Some tourists prefer to enter at the Desert View (east side) while others prefer to go the Village, which is at the west side entrance of the South Rim. The two sides are connected by the 26 mile scenic Desert View Drive with many overlooks along the way. Many visitors begin at one end and then return back to Flagstaff AZ from the other end.
