Pine Grove Campground

Pine Grove Campground is located just south of Upper Lake Mary and west of Ashurst Lake. It is just a 19 mile drive from Flagstaff on Lake Mary Road (FH 3). All lakes in the area are stocked with trout and bass while some also have other fish varieties including walleye and northern pike. Pine Canyon Campground is popular with campers with power boats since Upper Lake Mary has no boat motor horsepower limits.

The campgound is spread through stands of pine trees bordered by high country meadows where often campers may see roaming herds of elk and deer. At an elevation of almost 7,000 feet, spring, summer and early fall have cool, refreshing temperatures. See the Flagstaff Weather and Climate Charts.

About Pine Grove Campground

This is one of the few camping places in Flagstaff that accepts campsite reservations. Of the 46 individual camping sites, 24 of them can be reserved while 22 remain first-come, first-serve and 16 campsites are fully handicap-accessible. Each camping spot includes a picnic table, fire ring and a cooking grill.

The campground has an amphitheater with ranger-led talks during the summer season. Common facilities and conveniences include drinking water, flush-type handicapped accessible toilets, a coin-operated showers, and an RV dump station. Boat ramps are at the lakes. You can reserve a camping site by calling toll- free at 1-877-444-6777. Otherwise get there early to claim a camping site.

Fees apply and are subject to change. As of January 2012, the fees were as follows: $18.00 per night, up to eight people with one vehicle. Second vehicle per night: $9.00 additional. Showers: $3.00. The campground is available for Picnic/day use from 10 AM to 4 PM for a fee of $9.00 up to 5 people. Call the Flagstaff Ranger Station for the current fees at (928) 526-0866.
